Please find below details of an information session that Foodbank are hosting at WCC on Monday evening about Universal Credit. This is due to be rolled out in our area in May. Anyone that would like to find out more, who thinks they may be affected, or who knows someone that might be, is welcome to attend.
As a church, as part of our community involvement, this is likely to have a significant impact for us. A foodbank in Taunton recently reported a 60% increase in demand for their services after Universal Credit was rolled out in their area. If the same happens here, this will have a significant impact on the amount of food and volunteer hours that we will need to continue to meet demand – also on space needed, which as you know, is already very limited.
Please pray for Foodbank as we approach this time and consider whether you could help support the important work that they do by:
Donating food – there are collection bins in Tesco, Co-op, at church, or pop into Foodbank
Volunteering – please see Jacqui for more details or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Supporting financially – via a one-off gift or regular giving
You are invited to join us for tea & cake on Monday 26th March at 7pm to find out how Universal Credit will affect your community.
